These are the 10 best coffees right now at Dunkin.
1 – Hot Coffee – “America’s Favorite Cup”
This is the first coffee I ever tasted, sipping behind my dad’s back on the way to church.
To this day, the smell and sight of Dunkin coffee send me back to my childhood. Throw in a jelly donut and I’m all yours.
I love that Dunkin grinds and brews high-quality 100% Arabica beans around the clock. You’ve never had a stale cup of coffee from Dunkin because they sell 60 cups a second. That’s about 2 billion cups every year. At that volume, you’ve got to have a constant flow of fresh bean juice.
Check it out – Dunkin is pretty heavy on our favorite wake-up chemical. A large cup has 210 mg of caffeine. That’s more than McDonald’s or Starbucks.
Like to customize? You can pick from 6 different dairy options. Dunkin has tons of flavors available to customize your coffee just how you like it.
I don’t think there’s a better cup of coffee available as fast and as consistently as “America’s favorite cup.”
2 – Dunkin Bottled Iced Coffee
To create the recipe for their bottled iced coffee drinks, Dunkin got a bunch of coffee experts together. They tasted 200 cups a day to perfect the taste, texture, mouthfeel, and a bunch of other minor factors.
The result is a delicious and relatively inexpensive convenience coffee drink with more caffeine and protein than a Frappuccino.
Our favorites in our home are Dunkin Original and Dunkin Mocha. We have trouble keeping the bottles on the shelves. It’s so easy to skip the drip pot, French press, and K-cup machine and just grab one of these and go.

3 – Cold Brew
There’s a sort of cult that’s grown up around Dunkin Cold Brew.
Sure, you can make cold coffee at home. It takes forever and there’s no guarantee you’ll get it right. At Dunkin, you don’t have those concerns.
Dunkin makes their Cold Brew in small batches. They use a unique blend of 100% Arabica beans from their traditional brewed coffee. They steep the beans overnight in cold water.
What comes out is an ultra-smooth low-acid coffee with huge flavors and aromas. Notes of chocolate pop out of the brew.
People who can’t take the acidic quality of some gourmet brews should check this stuff out.
One of the reasons for the hubbub about Dunkin Cold Brew is its scarcity. Each Dunkin store has a limited amount available every day. You can’t say that about any other Dunkin coffee drink.
Another reason people love it is the high caffeine content. You’re looking at 350 mg of caffeine in a large Cold Brew. That’s about 33% more than in a large Dunkin hot coffee.
If you get to Dunkin early enough, you should try their Cold Brew if for no other reason than that it’s available in a limited supply.
I think you’ll like it as much as my generally coffee-adverse wife.
4 – Americano
A good Americano is simple.
Take a couple of shots of fresh-brewed espresso and toss them in a cup. Add enough near-boiling water to suit your taste. Enjoy.
The Americano was originally an attempt by baristas in Europe to produce a cup of coffee familiar to Americans. We uncultured Americans preferred a big steaming cup of mildly strong coffee. European baristas were more used to slinging tiny cups of high-octane espresso.
Dunkin nails the Americano. They don’t do anything fancy. They take two shots of their espresso and add it to water that’s almost at a boil.
Voila!, a perfect Americano.
I have to admit that this is probably my favorite drink at Dunkin besides the original hot coffee. It has loads of caffeine, and you can add whatever you want to it.
5 – Espresso
This is a relatively recent addition to Dunkin’s menu. It’s a welcome one.
There’s no need to argue about it – Dunkin’s espresso is great.
Dunkin serves their espresso with a nice crema, something you can’t always say about their competitors. It has a lovely body – it just feels right in your mouth. With an aggressive flavor profile and a very deep roast, this is not an espresso for the weak.

6 – Signature Latte
Dunkin’s espresso is roasted a bit longer than other espresso beans in the industry.
That isn’t to everyone’s taste. I like it, for example, but nobody else in my family can drink it all on its own.
When a rich and robust espresso mixes with warm and frothy milk and gets topped with whipped cream and toppings, I don’t think anyone will notice.
This is a great coffee drink for people who like elaborate presentations and dessert-like ingredients. It’s not to my taste. Give me the espresso straight.
But remember, people enjoy and experience coffee differently, and that’s a good thing.

7 – Dunkin Midnight Dark Roast K-Cup Pods
Dunkin is still making moves into the retail space. I’m seeing more Dunkin products on the shelves. I think that’s a good thing.
These are my favorite of all the Dunkin K-Cup products we’ve tried.
Here’s why I like it:
First, the roast is as dark as any product in Dunkin’s line, outside of maybe the espresso. In fact, the aromas and flavors of the espresso shot I had this morning matched pretty well with what you’ll get out of this K-Cup.
Second, the beans are premium-grade and 100% Arabica. The quality is high.
Finally, there’s the K-cup convenience. As easy as it is to drive through a Dunkin, popping a K-cup in the machine and grabbing the cup on my way out the door is easier.
You can find them in boxes of 10 and 22.
8 – Cappuccino
For a while in the late 90s, every restaurant started serving cappuccinos. To Americans, discovering an entire coffee community and industry for the first time, a cappuccino was a status symbol.
These days, the status symbol drink is a Starbucks latte.
They can keep their status symbol. I prefer a thick and foamy cappuccino to a latte any day.
Dunkin’s Cappuccino does the three things I’m looking for in this classic coffee drink:
- It’s blended with steamed milk, as it should be.
- It contains a thick layer of creamy foam at the top, which is vital.
- It has a deep espresso taste, with notes of dark chocolate and burnt sugar.
The caffeine content is high but not as bad as some of Dunkin’s other drinks. It averages about 250 mg for a large size cup.
9 – Frozen Coffee
I only need to say one thing about Dunkin’s Frozen Coffee:
It’s a coffee milkshake.
If that interests you, you’ll love the creaminess of it. You’ll love how the frozen coffee melts in your mouth and the flavors spread across your tongue.
If the idea of a coffee milkshake runs counter to your interests, you won’t like this one.
You can order an Original (coffee flavor) or go for one of 5 flavor additions, like Caramel Swirl and French Vanilla.
10 – Ground Dunkin Hazelnut Packaged Coffee
I’ll admit it – nobody in our house regularly drinks flavored coffees. But we keep packaged flavored coffees around for guests.
Dunkin’s Ground Hazelnut packaged coffee is always a hit. Hazelnut is a crowd-pleasing flavor. The aroma of it is strong, which is nice when company comes over.
Dunkin’s ground coffees are a multinational affair. Beans from eight different countries make their way into the mix.
The blend is meant to be clean, medium-bodied, with a slight acidity. In other words, it’s a breakfast blend.
I’d describe the roast as perfectly medium. Some people may prefer a slightly lighter roast in the morning, both for the higher caffeine content and brighter flavors and aromas.

For many people (myself included) stopping at Dunkin is part of some ritual.

The sweetened caramel swirl syrup at Dunkin' is one of the sweetest flavor shots you can get from the chain. It thoroughly masked the flavor of the iced coffee. You could still taste that there was coffee, but the sweetness of the caramel made the coffee taste more like chocolate.
