Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews

Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Brilliant all round!

Fantastic stay at The Trouville! This hotel has so much character and a fantastic team that delivered a first class service throughout our stay. Clean, spacious rooms, brilliant service at the 24 hour bar and a great really good breakfast - capping off a great stay!

Hotel's Favourite

Great stay,friendly staff.

Recently stayed here, staff were extremely friendly, willing to go that extra mile to make sure we were comfortable, fulfilling our needs as much as they could. Pool was lovely, had it to ourselves most of the time. Same with the jacuzzi. Unfortunately, sauna wasn’t working. Breakfast was a buffet as expected, was fresh and very nice. The hotel is In a fantastic location, very close to lots of restaurants, the town centre and the beach. The hotel was outdated but was clean and you get what you pay for. Would recommend!

Bad Management

The Sales managers don’t have a clue what they are doing. We were quoted a price for a group booking months in advance and on the 11th hour were let down. We were left devastated and had to turn to other hotels at the last minute paying 3 times the cost. They were unaccommodating and did nothing to help about what was their mess up. Be warned before booking. Or avoid totally

Great hotel staff good price

Good location and it was a very good price. The hotel reception staff ‘Frank’ was very accommodating and made me feel welcome. All the other staff made you feel at home and I ended up returning! I would definitely recommend 👍

Great location, great staff, great stay!

Just returned from a weekend at The Trouville Hotel and it was great! Yes, the hotel needs some updating but didn't detract from the great service provided and fabulous location! The staff were excellent, nothing was too much bother, super friendly and welcoming! Our room was huge, plenty of room for four girls to get ready for a night out in! We enjoyed an afternoon tea in the bar on arrival and it was incredible, the new chef is definately a great asset to the team. Fresh sandwiches, freshly made scones and cakes were delicious! The location is fabulous, just a very short walk to the BIC, town centre, bars, restaurants and beach! Car park on site. Fantastic value for money, will definitely return and would definitely recommend 👍 Thanks for a great stay Matt and all the Trouville team 😊

Family break

So this is a completely honest review. Lovely welcome, allowed is to leave our luggage in reception as arrived to early to check in. Room was a good size for me and 2 boys. Bath water Lovely and hot, comfortable beds and pillows so slept well. Great breakfast each morning too. Friendly staff who were good with the kids too. The place is in need of a good old refurb as looking a little shabby in places. The pool area was fine for what we needed, again needs a little work to get up to scratch but my boys loved splashing about in it and I enjoyed the sauna. Great location 👌, couldn't really beat it. All in all for what we needed I give it 5 stars, maybe not a place for a romantic weekend array but 💯 perfect for a family stay. We hope to go again in warmer months. Thanks trouville. 😊

First visit to the Trouville

This was a first stay at the Trouville and it did not disappoint. Really well situated for the BIC and town and with a good-sized reasonably priced car park. Stayed in a single room which was clean and with an en-suite shower room. Had full English breakfast on Saturday morning and it was quite small for the price - Sunday however was a buffet and excellent value. Staff were very helpful and the bar area nice to relax in. We will return.

Lovely hotel with amazing staff

Staff were amazing, breakfast was plentiful, full English, and cereals, coffee, fruit juice etc readily available. Comfortable beds, but the room needed a little TLC. Overall a very good hotel and the price was amazing. little Will definitely book again.

Good budget hotel with small pool

The Trouville can offer a decently priced stay in the centre of Bournemouth, less than 10 minutes walk from the pier and from the main shopping streets. Rooms can be a little old fashioned but the bed and pillows were more comfortable than the other hotels in this price range that I've used in Bournemouth recently. It's on a steep hill, with its car park just down the hill, but there is a lift connecting the hotel and car park. Car Parking can be expensive (£12 a day), but some booking deals include free parking; others include discounted breakfast - so it can pay to shop around. (I booked on a site with half priced breakfast for three people; but had to pay the full car parking fee). Breakfast was adequate rather than outstanding; cooked dishes are prepared in the kitchen, not buffet style - generally they come quickly, unless you want the vegetarian sausages (not recommended, more like potato rissoles!) = the field mushroom was nice, but there was only one, and half a small tomato, a single rasher of bacon and small has brown. There was sliced white of granary bread for toast; only marmalade or blackcurrant jam as spreads; two types of yoghurt (and single unspecified type of milk). There's a tiny gym area (just three machines, all for arms - nothing to pedal - outside the small by pleasant pool area. If you're a serious swimmer then don't go to the Trouville (there are other similarly priced options, where the hotel may be a little more decrepit, but the pool is larger and better suited to swimming, such as the Carrington House and the Laguna). However for kids to splash around in the pool - and there's a sauna and jacuzzi, too, it's very good. Taken as a whole, for price, location, room quality and pool, the Trouville can often be the best bet.

They had a lot to learn

It was a shambles, no one new wat they were doing. In there defence all staff were new, I would think they were not trained. Food was good, but having to wait an awful long time for it, even though we had to fill in wat we wanted the day before. People on our table would get there food & some on same table waited ages. Entertainment was very good, New Years Eve & also New Years Day afternoon amazing singer called Steven Lea very entertaining, so they were trying but the service in restaurant was shocking, must say the staff were having so much stick, but still they were very obliging & pleasant
